Technical / functional information

Iron ingredients differ most in elemental iron content and in how the material behaves in the mouth and in the matrix. Ferrous fumarate carries roughly 30% elemental iron; an iron glycinate form carries less, which means more powder per declared dose.

The trade is rarely about iron content alone. Colour, taste, solubility, interaction with other actives and the sensory result all follow from the form that is chosen, so the comparison belongs to the formulation team rather than to the price list.

Agree the specification and the documents before the sample stage: identity, elemental content, appearance, solubility and the batch documents are what the incoming material will be checked against.

Documents

The specification, a representative COA, a TDS and a SDS are sent on request, from the first enquiry. The batch COA, the stability report and the raw test data follow once the product and the batch are fixed.

A COA reports the results of the tests it covers, for the product or the batch it names. It does not by itself confirm the molecular structure of the ingredient or a chelated state.

Request a sample or a quotation

Ask for this product as a sample or a quotation. Name the specification, the application and the market you are working to, and we will answer with the specification it is supplied against and the documents behind it.

Usually the specification is confirmed before a sample is arranged.
